Keele University is to hold a mini-festival to celebrate and encourage creative writing.
The Keele Writing Shoestring Festival will take place on Thursday, May 21, with sessions including: a workshop of writing challenges against the clock with a cash prize for the winner; a talk about the Creative Writing MA course at Keele; and an open mic performance event.
The third edition of Keele’s literary magazine Keele Writing – featuring writing talent from across the university – will be launched at 6pm and the day will end with a barbecue and party.
James Sheard, a lecturer in Creative Writing at Keele, said: “We have a very vibrant writing community at the University and this event is a great opportunity to find out more and get involved.”
The event starts at 2pm in a marquee at the Keele Postgraduate Association Clubhouse on Keele’s campus. For more information see http://www.keele.ac.uk/depts/en/pgrad/mawriting/shoestring_festival.html
