The latest update to the Masters in Medical Science programme run by Keele University School of Medicine offers a special focus on ethics, policy and professionalism.
This Ethics route through Keele’s MMedSci offers three core modules and a wide range of optional modules. Each module has a credit rating within the national masters framework and the course leads either to a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Science (if 60 credits are achieved), Postgraduation Diploma in Medical Science (with 120 credits) or a Masters in Medical Science (with 180 credits).
Course Director, Dr Roger Worthington MA PhD, said “In designing this innovative course, we’ve mapped it against Good Medical Practice from the GMC and taken account of the future need for revalidation. An understanding of healthcare ethics and policy will be a vital part of how healthcare professionals can demonstrate their commitment to maintaining fitness to practice.”
Dr Worthington leads on medical ethics and law at Keele University School of Medicine and is also Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine (Dept of Gernal Internal Medicine) at Yale University, Connecticut.
