"One dog lay alone on the bed of the shallow lake. The other two dogs were locked in a passionate embrace. All their legs entwined like those of human lovers. I was told that those dogs that were entwined had once betrayed the dog that lay alone. They had fallen in love and abandoned him. When the lonesome dog realised, he searched for them, full of anger and a desire for revenge. He ran across the countryside of Scotland, barking the names of his former friends. When he eventually happened upon them, a great chase ensued. The two lovers ran together, desperate to escape their pursuer. But they could not. The three of them charged into this lake and froze to death. One alone. Two locked in a final embrace.

The young man put a hand on my shoulder when he noticed I was crying.

"Tears," he said. "From one dead dog to the others."'

I'm besotted.

“That time when the train pulls into Stoke station, that’s one of the best feelings in the world to me."

I get like that with Aberdeen train station. About 15 minutes before pulling in, I have to suppress myself from screaming with excitement, and fainting with nerves.

Very interesting read. Just for light humour, planetary billiards sounds like a great new online game to bring out; what do you think?!
